According to leading news source Reuters, Amazon will make temperature checks and face masks available for all staff across warehouses in the US and Europe this week in order to combat the coronavirus. The E-commerce giant has said that it has ordered millions of surgical masks which will be provided to employees, and it will also start testing the temperatures of hundreds of thousands of employees. Machine-learning software will also be used to ensure that employees are staying at safe distances during their shifts.
Every week Amazon is making changes to prioritise the safety of its workers, including making deliveries contact-free which we reported on last week. It is vital that the health of staff is taken into consideration by major companies and Amazon can be seen as an example for many other organisations.
