Retail giant Amazon has informed UK customers that from now on, its delivery drivers will not knock on doors or ring any doorbells unless an order requires an ID check. They have said that delivery packages will instead be left on a doorstep or in a safe place if specified by the customer. This is to protect Amazon’s staff and its customers from exposure to the virus. Amazon has said “We place tremendous value and focus on the wellbeing of our associates, delivery partners and customers.”
Along with their plan to make coronavirus tests available in the UK, this is another way in which Amazon has demonstrated their willingness to help with reducing the spread of coronavirus across the country.
