- The Chinese Trademark Law stipulates that natural persons, legal persons or other organizations that need to obtain trademark exclusive rights for their goods or services in production and business activities shall apply to the Chinese Trademark Office for trademark registration.
- China has joined the Madrid International Trademark System. Therefore, in addition to submitting a Chinese trademark registration application to the Trademark Office, it can also submit an application for Madrid international trademark registration.
- Any mark that distinguishes the goods of natural persons, legal persons or other organizations from those of others, including words, figures, letters, numbers, three-dimensional signs, colour combinations and sounds, and combinations of the above elements, all of which can be used as trademarks to apply for registration.
- If the trademark is not used for three consecutive years after registration, any third party has the right to request the cancellation of the trademark.

What are the requirements for natural persons to apply for trademark registration?
Natural persons should submit the following documents when applying for trademark registration: fill out the “Application for Trademark Registration” in accordance with the regulations and ensure it is signed by the applicant, includes a trademark pattern, a copy of the business/incorporation license, and a copy of the ID card of the natural person.
I got the registration certificate, the goods produced now are somewhat different from those described in the registration certificate, will they be protected?
The exclusive right to use a registered trademark is limited to the approved registered trademark and the goods used for approval. Where a registered trademark needs to obtain the exclusive right to use a trademark on a commodity outside the approved scope of use, an application for registration shall be filed separately.
